How invasions work
Beat the grunt's three slots, then catch the reward. Counter the lineup's types. Shadow Pokémon hit hard but fold to super-effective damage.

Shadow Pokémon

Rocket Pokémon are caught as Shadow: boosted attack, weaker defense, and the charged move Frustration until purified.

Purification

Purifying drops Frustration, lowers power-up cost, and bumps IVs, but removes the Shadow attack bonus, so keep raiders shadow.

Catchable slot

Only the marked reward position awards an encounter after the battle; the other slots are battle-only.

Leaders & Giovanni

Cliff, Arlo, and Sierra need a Rocket Radar; Giovanni needs a Super Rocket Radar from the monthly Special Research.
